The Pitt, Monday Night
Aug. 1st, 2011 07:27 pmBilly did not need the salary that being a reserve member of G.I. Joe provided (not that he turned it down). The trust fund set up by Destro and the Baroness was still going strong, and his investments were doing well. However he had found that the occasional mission was nicely diverting.
"I'm pretty sure they just get the names of folks with the right skills, and put 'em in a hat." Roadblock said.
Billy snickered. "That explains a lot. I couldn't figure out why they picked the team they did to root out that Cobra cell. Any number of Joes could have handled that one. Hey by the way, what's with the guy hiding in the engine of the APC?"
Roadblock looked towards the vehicle in question. "He ain't hidin', he's just fixing it."
Billy glanced over to find a young man peeking out of the engine well, just his eyes up visible. The minute he saw he'd been spotted, he ducked down.
"No I'm pretty sure he's hiding."
Roadblock shrugged. "That's Motor Pool, Sarge's nephew. Got sectioned 8 from basic, but Sarge pulled some strings, got him assigned here."
"Is he okay?"
"Oh yeah. Just a little shy."
Billy looked again.
"Hi!" came a voice from the engine.
"Uh, yeah. Hi." At least the guy seemed harmless.
