While the alien's all distracted and fascinated and 'oo science project' John's trying not to grind his teeth into slivers from the pain as Fuckstick McSausageFingers is busy trying to make fillets of his marrow. Instead, he's using the bits concealed under the Band-Aids on his fingers to get his hands loose.

The humans always squirm around when they're being examined, so the Alien didn't think much of the fidgeting. And the little bandages on the human's hands weren't of any interest.

John managed to get one hand free. And was steadfastly working on the other.

If that alien takes his goddamn leg off, he's gonna beat it to death with it and jam his leg so far up his ass it'll taste toejam.

As of yet, the Alien wasn't interested in removing the appendage. There was too much information to be gathered by examining the living tissue while still attached to the human.

The Alien might also have been trying to see whether there was a correllation between the examination and the human's squirming.

The Alien had a theory.

John had a theory. His theory was he was pretty sure he could jam that scalpel completely into the skull of Mr. Pokes-A-Lot. And that think that looked like a saw. And... the... whirry thing with spikes?

Hand... almost... free!

The whirry thing with spikes was the Alien's favorite tool. It was going to be very unhappy when it learned of John's plan.

But at the moment, it was too interested in the funny jerking movements the human's appendage made when the Alien inserted a long needle into it.

One of those jerky movements was to reach out and grab a scalpel. Another of those jerky movements was to bring it down on the head of Deadus Alienus with a two-fisted overhead smash. A third jerky movement was to pull the needle out of his leg and aim it for the alien's arm, to see firsthand what it felt like.

Those were not the jerky movements the Alien had been expecting. It let out a horrific scream as the scalpel cut into its head, and swiped at the human, needle sticking out of its arm.

John took the blow on his forearm, and pulled the alien towards the medical table for a 1-2 punch with the spare fist he kept in his beard. John got his legs free, picked up the bone saw, and did a bodydrop on the thing's head with all his naked weight.

A tentacle shot out toward the human, in reaction to the assault, as the Alien fell to the floor under the human's weight.

It made a satisfying crunchy-squishy sort of sound.

John grabbed the tentacle and wrenched it, separating it from the body.

Well, tentacle nunchucks were better than nothing.

Which is what John realized he was wearing.

He rigged up a loincloth and grabbed anything else that was handy as a weapon and peered out the door.
