Time for a new exercise. Bracing his hands and feet against the walls, he managed to wedge himself up against the ceiling. Now, how long could he stay up there?

Storm Shadow had taught him a good trick about how to do something like this for an extended period of time. Not think about it. Therefore, he let his mind wander.

In a way, this school seemed to be a very good place, but there were still others that worried him a great deal. The three minute date night had seemed to go all right, but Layla, the girl he'd seemed to get along with the most had never returned his call. But that was, in the scheme of things, a minor thing. He didn't know what his type was, but he wasn't sure any of those girls that night had been it.

His classes were good and interesting for the most part, but his inadvertent insulting of the Astronomy teacher still bothered him. Of course he was worried about Joxer as well. He'd noticed that Dr. Covington seemed to have some kind of grudge against him.

And that thought brought him to another concern. Well, less a concern than a social awkwardness. Billy had never dealt with other kids his own age before. he liked the other students, he thought he got along with most of them quite well, even if many of his attempts at humor fell flat. A comment he'd made to Mac really summed it up. He wasn't used to friendly people, and it made him nervous. Bel scowling, and even Vader had been oddly comforting.

But Vader, there was a big concern. If the rumors were true, what kind of school would hire such a man, especially to teach ethics? What exactly did they hope the children would learn?

All right, that was enough of the bad, time focus on the good, as Aziraphale had suggested. He really was managint to get along with pretty much everyone, and he didn't think there was a boring one in the group. And he was finally getting to do things a teenager should do. Make junk food, watch bad tv and violent movies. He'd signed up for, probably too many, clubs, partly because they'd been interesting, partly to force himself to be social. Wandering around the campus, common rooms, and roof were working, but he was here to try to put his past behind him, and part of that was integrating into the world he'd been denied. His current theory was, hang around his new peers long enough and they might actually seem like his peers, instead of a bunch of overly friendly strangers.

So far, so good. He was still up there.

ooc: open to passerby.
