New Jersey, Thursday Late Morning/Early Afternoon

Five police cars, one fire truck, and two ambulances arrived. Uniformed police got out of the cars and began a sweep of the immediate area. The first man out of one of the cars however, was not wearing a uniform. Well, not a police uniform at any rate.

The man in the black suit strode purposefully towards Snake-Eyes.

"What in god's name happened here? Scarlett said you and Billy were going to rescue Storm Shadow. She didn't say anything about a pitched battle in the middle of Jersey with the Dreadknocks."

Snake-Eyes could only shrug, and started signing an explanation.

[Live play of the aftermath of Billy's plot. For those who are already involved, and NFB due to distance. Small OCD coming is up.]

Anemone growled softly, stepping between Billy and the oncoming stranger. The sight of unknown medical personnel was raising every 'flee' instinct she had, but her conditioning refused to let her run from a fight. It's not that she didn't trust Snake-eyes' judgement, it's just, well, strangers.

"You are...?"

"Lifeline. Please let me by Miss." He could see she was nervous, but he didn't have time just now to calm her. From what he could see, Billy needed immediate care.

She only hesitated for a moment before stepping aside, still watching him carefully. The mad-scientist types didn't usually call people 'miss', at least none that she knew.

Cradling her injured wrist, Anemone moved to the other side of Billy to watch. She really hated feeling helpless.

Lifeline knelt at Billy's side, and began examining the wound. "Whoever did this field dressing probably saved his life."

"Cassandra did the first part," she said quietly, pointing out the other girl. "John added to it afterward."

"Ane. It's okay." John was behind her.

Besides, if it wasn't okay, they'd be cleaning up medic pieces. Well, not them but someone.

"Not. Okay." she snarled, still twitchy. "If I'd taken the shot when we went in, we wouldn't have this mess."

"And then we'd be helping Billy plan a funeral," he said. "Why didn't you take the shot?" he asked softly. Curious, not accusing.

"Because Billy called me to save someone, not kill someone." Anemone sighed in frustration and rubbed her head. "I put the mission objective first. If I had done it, he probably would have lost his shot to help his friend."

"We can review later. Or not," he said, moving to place his hands on her shoulder. Backrub? Neckrub? No disembowling the not-boyfriend?

"Ane...I..." He made an aggravated noise.

"What?" Anemone winced at how short she sounded and turned her head to smile at him. "Sorry, I'm just tired, and She wants out...it's just too many people around here."

"You keep Sybil in check and we'll go get some ice cream. Or at least snag a cot next to Billy at the hospital and make sure he's okay," he said, giving her shoulders a squeeze." He rested his head on hers.

"Glad you're here. Aside from the macho thing where you should be not where people are shooting at you thing, but I'm working on that." He kissed her hair....and smiled wickedly. "If I knew that all it took was leveling a city block for you to hang out with me..." Hairkiss.

"The problem is we both want to hit more people, and I've already had problems staying 'me' this week." She closed her eyes and leaned against him, enjoying the company. "I think I need a vacation."

"My house this weekend?" he suggested with a shrug. "Always welcomed. And encouraged. Hit the shooting range, even." He pulled back from her and gave her the stinkeye. "Whaddya mean, staying 'you' this week?"

"I don't know. It's just been...more Coralian, maybe? This week, at least. Not switching, just some leakage." Anemone shrugged a bit. "More spice than sugar? It happens sometimes. A lot less here than it does at home."

"I'm blaming that weekend," she said, nodding seriously. "It's hard enough with two in my head. Three? That's pushing it."

"I like spicy. Makes things interesting." Then he actually listened to her. "Please tell me that you didn't have a tiny fairy crawl into your head or somethign this weekend?" he said. He would be headdesking or facepalming, but his hands were on her shoulders. So he head-haired.

"What the hell was the third?!" he asked, his voice muffled in her hair.

"Oh, um, I forgot to tell you..." No, she didn't forget, she just didn't want him to wig out. "You know how Fandom Weird happens? Well, I turned into someone else. I, er.." Anemone took a deep breath and tried not to wince.

"IturnedintoaJediandbitchedoutMasterSkywalker."

Wow, one breath. Impressive. "But! Being Serra was kinda cool, and I didn't even kissy anyone when I was not-me, so, um, yay?"

John, softly mind you, was knocking his forehead against the nearest hard object...which was Anemone's noggin. "Sweetie? Remind me that I love you and it's generally bad to fall over laughing because then it's so much easier for you to stab me a lot." He dropped his hands into what looked like a hug type position and probably was a hug type position but had the added side effect of keeping Ane close enough that she couldn't punch him in the face. Hopefully.

"You pissed off the Emo Bathrobe and lived? Awesome!"

"Don't call him that!" Anemone swatted at him lightly and giggled. "I like Master Skywalker! He's fun."

Anemone has a very warped sense of fun. That might be why she's not-dating John.

"Sweetie, you like me and it's generally bad to fall over laughing because then it's so much easier for me to stab you," she parroted primly. "I'll have you know I didn't stab anyone today. I shot them, I stomped on his arm, and kicked his ribs and head, but I did not stab."

John also has a warped sense of fun. It's why he gets along so well with his not-girlfriend.

"I'm glad you managed not to stab someone today. Because that's the important thing." He poked her, grinning.

"Should we flee like fleeing things and make sure Billyboy is safe?" He was keeping a wary eye on the newcomer peoplethings.
