New Jersey, Thursday Late Morning/Early Afternoon

Five police cars, one fire truck, and two ambulances arrived. Uniformed police got out of the cars and began a sweep of the immediate area. The first man out of one of the cars however, was not wearing a uniform. Well, not a police uniform at any rate.

The man in the black suit strode purposefully towards Snake-Eyes.

"What in god's name happened here? Scarlett said you and Billy were going to rescue Storm Shadow. She didn't say anything about a pitched battle in the middle of Jersey with the Dreadknocks."

Snake-Eyes could only shrug, and started signing an explanation.

Billy was clinging to conciuosness like a life raft. Because he was rather afraid that if he did allow himself to fall asleep, he'd never wake up.

Through the haze of pain, hurt, and blood loss, he found he recognized a few of the new arrivals.

Like the head fireman, wasting no time in organizing efforts to put out the fires. His thick Boston accent very out of place.

Or the EMT who was even now making his way towards Billy and his friends. He carried himself with all the poise and efficiency of an experienced Combat Field Medic.

"Billy!" he shouted in alarm. "What happened?"

"Is anyone else injured?" one of the others asked.

Anemone growled softly, stepping between Billy and the oncoming stranger. The sight of unknown medical personnel was raising every 'flee' instinct she had, but her conditioning refused to let her run from a fight. It's not that she didn't trust Snake-eyes' judgement, it's just, well, strangers.

"You are...?"

"Lifeline. Please let me by Miss." He could see she was nervous, but he didn't have time just now to calm her. From what he could see, Billy needed immediate care.

She only hesitated for a moment before stepping aside, still watching him carefully. The mad-scientist types didn't usually call people 'miss', at least none that she knew.

Cradling her injured wrist, Anemone moved to the other side of Billy to watch. She really hated feeling helpless.

Liz was supporting her broken arm but she didn't speak up. She mostly just stared at the ground in shock over what had just happened.

One of the EMT's noticed her and hurried to her side. "Miss are you injured? Are you okay?" She seemed to be in shock.

Liz gave a soft barely audible murmur, which was the closest thing to speaking that she was capable of. It indicated that she was far from okay though.

John was busy looking inconspicuous as only those who have been detained several times can do.

Okay, he was running around like a mother hen making sure everyone was okay and that people were not getting hauled off into a paddy wagon.

A few of the cops looked at him questioningly, but Snake-Eyes waved them off. He pointed to Billy's companions and signed to the spook, that they were the good guys.

"Jesus kid." one of the fake cops sighed. "What are you doing getting involved in this crap?"

"I'm merely an innocent bystander, Officer," he said with a straight face.

Please ignore the obvious bulging of weaponry and blood on his hands.

Adam hadn't really sustained any injuries, he'd just be a bit bruised and sore in the morning.

But that didn't matter, he was just worried about Billy.

After calming down a bit, Anemone wandered over to where Adam was lurking. "So, any ideas on how we explain missing class to Master Skywalker? Somehow, I doubt saying, 'Sorry, we weren't there 'cause we were beating people up' is going to get us very far."

That actually made Adam laugh a bit. Shaking his head, he sighed. "Honestly, I don't know? Maybe we just tell him the truth? That Billy needed our help and we didn't want to let him do this on his own?"

Though, the more he thought about it, the more he wondered how angry Anakin might get. "Though, that might not go over too well."

Tori heard the EMT's question but stayed quiet.

Her leg and shoulder hurt like hell, but Billy was the one who needed the attention. Tori would tend to her injuries later.

Except there were enough EMT's to notice when other people were injured. The best among them was over seeing Billy's being loaded onto a stretcher. That left one of the younger ones to check on her.

"Hey, you look like you could use a band-aid." he young man said.

At the Hospital-Waiting Room

Billy was rushed to Surgery, and others who needed attention were getting it. Meanwhile, the others got to wait.

After arriving in the hospital Liz was taken to have her arm properly fixed.

Just as the EMT suggested, once Tori got to the hospital, she made sure to get her leg checked out.

Stupid wound that needed stitches. It hurt a little and Tori had a slight limp because of it, but she'd be okay in a week or so.

The man in the suit that had talked to Snake-Eyes earlier came into Tori's room. His expression was one of practiced calm.

"How are you feeling?"

Billy was out of surgery, and expected to survive. But it had been touch and go. Now he was getting the good drugs. He's mostly awake.

"Next time, we come up with a better plan than 'Shoot Everything That Moves And Then Shoot It Some More'," he said, almost to himself.

Billy turned his head slightly. Between low energy and high morphine, it was hard to do much moving. "Huh?"

Adam had been hovering outside of Billy's hospital room, pacing slightly. Deciding to check on his friend, Adam peeked his head in.

"Mom?" Billy asked, squinting towards the door. He had, one should be glad to know, retained his sense of humor. Or possibly he was just really high from the morphine.
