New Jersey, Thursday Late Morning/Early Afternoon

Five police cars, one fire truck, and two ambulances arrived. Uniformed police got out of the cars and began a sweep of the immediate area. The first man out of one of the cars however, was not wearing a uniform. Well, not a police uniform at any rate.

The man in the black suit strode purposefully towards Snake-Eyes.

"What in god's name happened here? Scarlett said you and Billy were going to rescue Storm Shadow. She didn't say anything about a pitched battle in the middle of Jersey with the Dreadknocks."

Snake-Eyes could only shrug, and started signing an explanation.

Liz half collapsed, half sat down. She held out her arm, wincing slightly as she did so.

She gently took Liz's arm, and probed ever so carefully with her fingers. "I'm afraid it's broken." she said calmly. "But not too badly." They'd have to do x-rays to be certain. "Do you hurt anywhere else?"

Liz slowly shook her head. At least she didn't hurt anywhere else physically.

"That's good. What's your name?"

"Liz Sherman," she said in a voice that was barely above a whisper.

"Okay Liz, I have to put a splint on, to keep your arm from getting worse. This may hurt a bit."

She nodded slowly and braced for whatever pain was going to come.

Working quickly, but gently, the medic wrapped Liz's arm with bandages and a splint. "This is only a temporary fix." she explained. "We'll need to get you to the hospital so we can fix you up properly."

Liz nodded slowly, "okay," she whispered.

Geeze, poor kid. the woman thought, brushing Liz's hair away from her face maternally. Just when I think I can't hate those damn snakes any more than I already do.

"Let's get you to the ambulance." she said, taking her uninjured arm.
