Tibet, Monday Morning

After a week of searching, Storm Shadow believed they had found Junko. The disturbing thing was that if the information was correct, then it was the Red Ninjas who had her. Storm Shadow claimed that Snake-Eyes had taken over leadership of the reclusive ninja clan, and left an ally in control.
What the hell were they doing working with Cobra then?
The Helicopter hovered just over the snow covered ledge. It was entirely due to Kyle's skill that the craft hardly wavered despite the buffeting Himalayan winds. Jinx and Storm Shadow leaped out, and the copter ascended.
"Budo, are you receiving?" Jinx tried the radio.
"Always." Kyle responded.
"Listen, if this goes wrong, I just want you to know-"
"I do know. And you better believe it's mutual. Besides, nothing's going to go wrong today."
"You two clear on the plan?"
"We'll land the chopper on the west ridge and wait for your signal." Billy confirmed. "I've made some progress on the communications front. If we can get a signal out of the mountain range someone at G.I. Joe HQ's gonna know we're here."
"Let's hope to hell they don't need to know." Kyle muttered. He was looking out the canopy to where their friends were rapidly becoming invisible in the snow.
"Hey what happened to 'nothing's going wrong'?"
"The guy who said that just left his girlfriend down on that cliff Billy."
After settling the chopper down, Kyle and Billy stood outside to take in the air. Frigid, windy air. It kind of felt good actually after spending a week in a bunker. Billy found himself wondering what was happening back in Fandom. And wishing some of his friends from there were here. He wasn't used to not being the one going in.
"How you holding up man?" Kyle asked the younger man.
"That's just it Kyle. Times like these, I'm calm." It had been during the search when he'd felt like a nervous wreck. Now that they were actually doing something, he felt better. "We just flew to Tibet in a stolen Cobra troop carrier. We might have to face down a mountain full of ninja killers, and I'm trying to remember if I left the coffee pot on."
"Well if we come home and the nightclub's burned down, I guess you'll know right?" Kyle grinned.
"Ain't it the truth man."
"With our luck, it wouldn't surprise me a-wait."
Billy had heard it too. Or, thought he had. Something moving. Even Billy's highly trained senses found it hard to detect anything in all the wind and snow. They both looked cautiously around, but saw nothing.
"We're crazy." Billy chuckled.
"I guess so." Kyle laughed. Wishful thinking maybe."
"*SKRIT* and Junko is here! -- eed help, get here now! *SKRIK*"
Without another word the two leaped back into the chopper and strapped themselves into their seats. Kyle set the the blades to whirling and the helicopter took off to the rescue.
"Jinx do you copy? Are you there?!" Kyle tried to raise his girlfriend on the radio without success. "Damnit! I'm not getting anything but her beacon signal now! Audio's dead as a doornail."
"Subdivide the beacon signal and send it to the sat booster!" Billy suggested. He'd learned a lot in the past week of surveillance. "We might need outside help after all. I'm heading back to the bay to gear us up." He opened the door to the cockpit and stepped through into the cargo bay. "Just warn me if we're headed for an impact."
"You're headed for an impact!" *SHKRACK!* The ninja known as Slice warned Billy, seconds before his heels slammed into the boy's chin, sending him reeling back into the cockpit. "Is that enough of a warning?"
Billy glowered at Slice and his partner Dice, two ninjas who often found gainful employment with Cobra. It must have been them that he and Kyle had heard earlier. "Oh come on. Are you kidding me?"
"Billy this is a really bad time for this." Kyle growled.
"Don't worry." Slice said, drawing a nasty looking sword.
"This won't take long." The massive Dice added, thumbing the edge of his large ax.
