A kid with one eye and a fake leg, majoring in Archeology and History, with a focus in Maritime Studies, didn't make for a hugely low profile. Which on the one hand worried Billy. But on the other, he'd already made up his mind he wasn't going to let fear of his father control his life.

It also meant that he was unsurprised when voice with an Australian accent said from behind him;

"Oh my God, you're real."

Billy turned, and had to reset his brain. The voice, and the face did not match his expectations at all. He hadn't thought he had any preconceptions about most things. He apparently was wrong. An asian girl with an Australian accent managed to throw him for a moment.

"Uh, yeah. I'm real. Are you?"

The girl laughed, a little ruefully. "Sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. I just, when my room mate told me about a guy majoring in Marine Studies who looked liked a pirate I thought it was the beginning of a joke."

Billy snickered at that. "Yeah okay that makes sense. I'm William by the way."

"Mei Ling Zi." she introduced herself, shaking his hand. "Marine biology major."
