Dr. Ken Rich, former G.I. Joe team member code-named Psych-Out, watched him for a moment. "So, I guess you heard?" he asked dryly.
Billy had indeed just heard about the success of the sting operation that Destro had orchestrated. Cobra Commander was in custody, awaiting trial. Though the cost had been high, it was over. Wasn't it?
"Yeah. Dad's been arrested. So why don't I feel safe?"
"Well Billy you've lived in fear of your father for so long, it's only natural it wouldn't be that easy to let that go."
"They've had him before you know." Billy said, as if he hadn't heard. "He escaped. We've thought he was dead, Serpentor thought he had him beat." He kept pacing.
"It sounds like you don't feel safe because you don't believe it's over." Dr. Rich said.
Billy nodded, and sank heavily into a chair. "That's it exactly. My dad's smart, and unfortunately charismatic. Even if the trial goes on, if he goes to prison, I don't know that it'll ever be over. Not unless he's completely humiliated. Or killed."
