The Great American Road Trip! Part 3: Blue Ridge Parkway

If you really take your time, the Blue Ridge Parkway can take a while to drive down. Winding through the mountains from Virginia to Tennessee, it features scenic views, and some interesting stops along the way.

Mun will have to teach Billy!Mun about euchre so you can pass as a midwesterner "Texas Hold 'Em?" he asked, laying the deck down and gesturing for the cards to be cut.

Mun has learned a few times to play poker, has never retained the knowledge

"Sounds good." Tony (Billy still called him that) smirked and expertely cut the cards.

Mun can't remember how to play it and stares at celebrity poker trying to understand

John smiled and started dealing. "Okay, everyone, place yer bets..."

Billy was driving, but Zanya slipped back to get a piece of the action.

"No cheating and no knife fights." Billy declared as rules.

"I see you've played Knifey Poker before," John called back to Billy.

John looked at his cards and threw in a chip.

"I've seen Zanya in back room card games."

"This thing is way too well lighted to be a back room dive." Zanya retorted. She raised the stakes a bit, and Tony called.

"We can turn the blinds down," John joked, "but I'd rather not start chainsmoking in this thing. The captain up there," he said, indicating Billy with his chin, "might lose the deposit on this heap."

"Funny, that's just what I was thinking with blood cleanup." Billy smirked. "Hey Deep Cover, you ever been in any back room games?"

"Not in America." Tony admitted. "Not sure I could fake the right ID. What sort frequents those?"

"All sorts, as long as you have the money and don't ask questions," John said. "You're not suggesting we go crash a poker game, are you?"

"Naw." Tony said, suddenly sounding exactly like a redneck biker. His posture and facial expression had changed too. Even the look in his eyes. If he wasn't so cleanshaven you'd never know he wasn't what he was pretending to be. "Jes' wanted t' know who I should be."

John smiled an evil grin. "Oh, we could have fun with this one," he said. "I haven't been in a bar fight in years."

"I try to plan for all contingencies," he said. "I plan on living for a long time, and I don't plan on any of that inside a jail cell."

"My dad would break us out." Zanya promised. Tony and Billy laughed.

"Hey that reminds me," Tony said, "Billy does the Joe team know ye're datin' one o' th' enemy?"

"That might be a conflict of interest," John stated, amused. "They might repossess your eyepatch."

"Hey my eyepatch has nothing to do with the Joes." Billy said, once Zanya stopped cackling. She was endlessly amused by the fact that she was on the Joe's wanted list, and her boyfriend was a reserve member.

"I'm just lucky they never tried to confiscate my leg, seeing as it's Cobra tech."

"Fine, I see how it is. You'd rather use your machine leg instead of the hand-crafted organic one." John mouthed 'pirate' to his poker-mates.

"You know they still call 'im that." Zanya told him.

"Doesn't roll off the tongue quite as well no." Billy agreed. "I think someone tried changing it up, but they might just have gotten the name wrong. Called my Bloody Will."
