The Pitt, Very Black Friday
Nov. 25th, 2011 11:53 amBilly stared in horrified disbelief at the sight before him. The world map displayed on the main screen in the war room was updated often due to shifting borders of some of the less stable countries. Cobra had been responsible for a lot of that of course.
General Hawk had asked Billy to come in to tell them about this "Cobra Commander". He'd been very interested in the idea that there was a central leader for the now defeated terrorist group. Billy had been incredulous. Cobra Commander, he'd said had been responsible for the General's current state of being confined to a wheel chair. "You personally took him out!" Billy said. He didn't like the way people were looking at him. Like he'd lost it.
"I'm not crazy!" he insisted. That was when he'd seen the map. And the gaping void that seemed to have just popped up. It could have been a glitch, but somehow the way it had happened, he doubted it. "What the hell happened to China?"
"China?" Firewall asked, looking at him blankly.
Billy pointed at the black spot on the map. "There! What is that?"
"That?" Firewall shrugged. "That's nothing. There's nothing there."
Billy gaped. People vanishing without a trace was bad enough. But half a continent?!
"Mr. Kessler," Hawk said placatingly, "Maybe you should sit down. You've been under a lot of stress lately-"
"I'M NOT CRAZY!" Billy shouted. "Something's going on here! Th-" Whatever he had been about to say was cut off as a tranquilizer dart embedded itself in his neck.
Scarlett caught him as he slumped to the floor. She looked up at Storm Shadow as he tucked the pistol back in it's holster.
"Tommy?"
"Do not worry Shana." he assured her. "I will take care of it."
