Rose bit her lip, "Hang-on!" Then turned the controls just so, heart thudding in her chest, seeing the crack of light.

Tori crossed her fingers, shutting her eyes tightly. They would make it, they would, damn it!!

Rose slammed on the speed and turned another angle, the gates closing in faster and faster than she'd anticipated. There was no choice but to speed-up as well.

Right, careful, fast, and oh dear God, she hoped this worked, they were flying completely sideways. The ship wobbled and there was the gate and they were almost through it, the ship shuddered badly as they scraped through.

Tori sighed in relief as they scraped through. "We made it." She was so relieved and smiled gratefully at Rose. "Nice job."

"Not out of it yet," But she was grinning like a loon.

Tori nodded, happy to be out of the gates, though.

And they were cleared, cleared like a cleared thing in November. Rose let out a whoop as she saw the blue curveture of the Earth.

"Hello, pretty!"

Tori grinned brightly when she saw Earth. "Yes!" She was so happy to see it.

"Woohoo! Hello hot showers and chocolate!"

"Home free!" Rose said, then flashed another grin at them, "We just need to land!"

She didn't mention that this would be the first time she'd be landing on her own.

"Oh, showers, yes." Tori grinned, laughing and agreeing with John. "Home free, indeed." Tori had complete faith in Rose. Landing would be nothing.

Rose bit her lip and concentrated as they hit the atmosphere and the gravity began pulling them in.

"I nominate you official Alien Pilot and Chief Lander." John unbuckles to buckle himself in the right way this time.

Tori laughed. "I totally second that nomination."

Rose smiled, "I'll accept that title," The ship shuddered badly as the gravity and kinetic energy took effect. Rose sturggled to keep the ship steady.

"Ohgod" John's stomach decided that no, it wanted to stay up there *pointed inertially* and didn't wanna play with the other organs. John clamped his arms around his stomach, and finally gave in.

"WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" he yelled, throwing his arms up like on a roller coaster.

Tori grinned at Rose. "Glad to hear it."

She felt the ship shudder and the gravity kick in. It was a comforting feeling, even if it was a tiny bit nerve wracking. Tori laughed at John's reaction.

John looked over and nodded at her to do it as well. He was waiting for the corkscrew and twisty moves next. Barrel rolls?

Rose could only wish it was barrel rolls, fact of the matter was, she was only there to try guiding the ship and hopefully not crash it. She reduced the speed and gritted her teeth.

Tori would've liked to see and experience some barrel rolls. She didn't think the ship was going to crash. They had come this far.

The shaking was bad, oddly it reminded Rose of all the times in the TARDIS, all she needed were the smoke and explosions. There was something beeping on one of the control panels, she looked at it and did what the Doctor would have done, or else she hoped it was what the Doctor would have done and hit it with her fist.

John appreciates a pilot who knows the sacred art of percussive maintenance. "Might hafta kick it, too. Sometimes it helps!"

Tori grinned, agreeing with John. "If hitting doesn't help, kicking almost always works." She admitted.
