Day Trip: Ocean City Maryland, Sunday

It was about a three hour drive to get from Alexandria to Ocean City. It was still early in the season, only partly sunny, and in the low 50's, so there weren't too many people there. Which is just how Billy liked it. Plenty of time for hellish crowds during the summer.

The big parking lot at the end of the boardwalk was nearly empty, making parking a hell of a lot easier than it could have been.

The boardwalk started almost immediately off the lot, with mostly closed shops, restuarants, and arcades lining it. The Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum was open, however the pier with it's thrill rides, water slides, and fishing spots was still gated and locked.

"And this," Billy said to Ami. "Is a boardwalk town in the off season."

"Further up the boardwalk I expect."

"Excellent. Lets go find out if they are open?"

"Sounds good." he said, taking her hand to begin the journey anew.

Ami was perfectly content to be led by the hand. Provided it was Billy doing the leading.

The rest of the museum was interesting as well, but soon they were back outside.

"Where it was warm but breezy with a lovely view of the ocean. "Someday, i want to live where i can see the ocean out of my window..."

Billy smiled at the thought. "That sounds cool." he said. "I've never really thought about where I want to live someday, I've never really rooted. But living by the ocean certainly has appeal."

"Japan is all oceans and mountains." Ami said. "so it is easy there."

"I can't believe I've never been there."

"Want to go? It could be fun."

"Yeah." he said, after thinking for a moment. "Yeah that'd be excellent."

"When's good for you? I can charge tickets to the Amex." Ami sometimes did not notice that she flung money around.

"Uhm, hmm...when do classes end?"

"Classes end on April 19th, then there is a week of exams, and then an interim week. Then graduation i think..."

"How long a trip were you thinking of?"

"Depends on how much time we have" She grinned. "We could go for a few days or a few weeks..."

"A few weeks would definately be an after classes thing."

"I am not sure i will be here over the summer..." Ami said, looking out at the sea. "We could go for a few days..."

"A few days works for me. Save some stuff for future trips."

"Planing to visit Japan a lot Billy?" Ami giggled and pulled out her mini-computer. 'How about a red eye on Thursday the 12th and a return re-eye on sunday the 15th? I will miss my Friday class, but i think i can do that..."

"That works for me yeah." he said, already planning on helping out with the expenses.
