Day Trip: Ocean City Maryland, Sunday

It was about a three hour drive to get from Alexandria to Ocean City. It was still early in the season, only partly sunny, and in the low 50's, so there weren't too many people there. Which is just how Billy liked it. Plenty of time for hellish crowds during the summer.

The big parking lot at the end of the boardwalk was nearly empty, making parking a hell of a lot easier than it could have been.

The boardwalk started almost immediately off the lot, with mostly closed shops, restuarants, and arcades lining it. The Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum was open, however the pier with it's thrill rides, water slides, and fishing spots was still gated and locked.

"And this," Billy said to Ami. "Is a boardwalk town in the off season."

"Not sure." he said, looking through the magnifying glass.

"Maybe it is done by very very tiny brushes." Ami looked around and spotted what looked like a pony-monkey hybrid. "Oh god, i hope they did that after the animals were dead."

"I'm pretty sure they did." Billy grimaced at the sight. "I think it's a taxidermy thing." They were nearing the pirate exhibit.

"Oooh, pirates", Ami exclaimed, and practically dragged Billy towards the exhibit.

Billy snickered and didn't need to be dragged much.

There were things about Blackbeard, Pirate's of the Chesapeake, and of walking the plank.

"Wish they had pirate hats to try on, i SO want a picture of you wearing one." Ami grinned and tried the interactive plank-walking exhibit.

"Maybe if there's a gift shop." He walked with her towards the end of the plank.

Ami looked down at the floor beneath the plank. There was a clearly plastic shark sticking out of it. As they came to the end, the plank dipped, the shark rose, and Ami screamed.

"Woah!" Billy cried out, startled himself. The plank stopped, then with a hiss of hydraulics, started to reset itself. "Sons of bitches." he began to laugh.

Ami, who was pretty much buried in Billy's shoulder giggled. "They got us, huh?"

"They totally did." he said. If I were them I'd have a camera set up to watch people freak out."

"Maybe they do. I bet they sell pictures like in Disney world."

"Could be." he nodded. "We'll have to check."

"Definitely. So, what is next? Hopefully something a bit more sedate than the shark."

"Agreed, I-" They came at that moment to the other side of the mirror. "Did you make any faces in that?"

"Maybe a little bit. Why?"

"Oh, it's just possible that someone was back here laughing at you that's all."

"Goody, I have always wanted someone to laugh at me." She stuck her tongue out at him.

He snickered, and kissed her.

Mmm, dream come true, someone laughing at the AND kisses. The mirror - totally forgotten. Billy - totally being kissed back.

It was dark, and they pretty much had the place to themselves. And the person currently standing on the other side of the one way mirror couldn't see them anyway.

"Someone is gonna come in here and we will be in trouble." Ami said between kiss one and kiss two. Not that she cared very much right now. Mostly she cared about being as close to Billy as possible. Because the discussion from Friday night mainly served to point out how easily she can lose him.

"Oh I don't know about being in trouble. Embarresed maybe, but I doubt we'd be in trouble." He kissed her forehead. "But I'm sure there's other places to stop and 'rest' if you want to move on for the moment."

Ami shook her head into his chest. "No, that's ok. I just want to hold on, you know?" Clingy? Ami? Well maybe.

"I have no problem with that."
